What this service does
The lookup tools send the handle or link you submit to a configured public-data provider and show the available result without using your TikTok login. Short-lived result caching reduces duplicate upstream requests. Peektok does not permanently host video files, profile pictures, or other TikTok media.
Data we collect
Each lookup logs the following:
- A one-way hash of the submitted input; the handle or URL itself is not written to query telemetry
- The input category (profile or video)
- A country code supplied by Cloudflare, when available
- Whether the result came from cache, plus provider success or failure information
- A timestamp
This limited telemetry is used to diagnose provider reliability, understand aggregate use, and prevent abuse. Network addresses are processed at the edge for rate limiting and are converted to a one-way limiter key; they are not written to the query-events table. Peektok does not use browser fingerprinting to connect lookups to a person.
If you submit a removal report, we store the TikTok URL, the reason you gave, your email address if you chose to provide one, and the submission timestamp. See Report a link.
Cookies and browser storage
Peektok uses browser localStorage to store:
- Your optional analytics choice
- Your theme preference (light or dark)
- Your language preference
These local preferences stay in your browser. You can reopen the analytics control through the “Privacy choices” button in the footer.
Lookup tools use sessionStorage for recent searches and short-lived cached results, including the submitted handle or URL in browser-local keys. These are separate from server-side query telemetry. The link cleaner runs locally without writing its input to lookup history or calling the lookup API; its Copy link button writes the result to your clipboard only on request.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Advertising scripts are disabled during the current review. Publisher verification metadata and ads.txt remain available. If advertising is later enabled after consent checks, it is limited to the blog index and six reviewed core guides. Homepages, all tools, downloads, legal pages, the removal form, and error pages are excluded.
Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, limit, and measure ads. Where advertising consent is legally required, the site operator must keep a Google-certified consent management platform active in AdSense before enabling ads for those visitors. The separate Peektok analytics choice does not replace that advertising consent flow.

Analytics
Google Analytics is currently disabled pending verification of automatic measurement settings. Once explicitly enabled, it loads only after you select “Allow analytics”. Page-view URLs contain only the domain and page path, not lookup text, URL query parameters, or fragments. We do not use session recording or Google advertising personalization through analytics. Automatic history, site-search, form, and outbound-link measurements must remain off. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent the lookup tools from working. Reopening “Privacy choices” withdraws analytics consent immediately, stops subsequent measurements, and clears this site's analytics cookies. This does not erase information already received by Google.
Third-party links
Lookup requests are processed by Peektok's Cloudflare-hosted API and configured public-data providers. Playback or source-media links may then connect your browser to TikTok or another source host. Once you follow a third-party link, that provider's privacy terms and technical logging practices apply.
Your rights
If you submitted a removal report and want it deleted, email us at [email protected]. We will remove it within 7 days.
